Hello,

Where can I find the CO2 equivalent emission values per fuel that are used by default in LEAP.

I found a lot of information under "fuels" in the "general" dropdown menu but I can't seem to find the values that I am looking for.

Thanks for your help.
Florence

Hi Florence,

Environmental loadings by pollutant can be found in the Technology Database (TED) View. This view has a tree much like the demand or results view, but contains technology-specific reference information. Within each sectoral branch you will find information on both IPCC Tier 1 and Tier 2 emission factors from the Revised 1996 Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories.

Note that LEAP does not initially have any emission factors for each branch. The easiest way to add emission factors is to right click on the tree in Analysis View and select "Add IPCC Tier 1 Emission Factors to all branches." You can also add them individually from TED (if, for example, you want to use tier 2 emission factors) or add them manually.

The Effects database in LEAP contains global warming potentials which relate emissions from each pollutant back to CO2 equivalent. The default values are from the IPCC Third Assessment Report (TAR) from 2001.

Best,

Tory
